Gemma Tiller is an independent singer-songwriter from the rolling paddocks of South Australia’s Clare Valley, where the country lifestyle isn’t just a brand—it’s a way of life. A fifth-generation farmer, she splits her time between songwriting and working as a roustabout in shearing sheds, contract mustering on remote stations, and studying broadacre cropping and livestock production. Her songs are steeped in the dust and honesty of that world–and it shows.
With a voice often described as a rich blend of Patsy Cline warmth and modern grit, Gemma brings powerhouse vocals and emotional storytelling together in a sound that’s unapologetically country, with threads of blues and soul woven through. She’s been praised by Golden Guitar winner Angus Gill as “a rare talent… the real deal” and mentored by country icon Lyn Bowtell, who calls her “remarkable… and destined for great things.”
A 3x graduate of the CMAA Academy of Country Music and the 2024 recipient of the Keith Urban Scholarship, Gemma has already earned her stripes across some of Australia’s most iconic stages—including the Tamworth Country Music Festival, The Longyard Hotel, Clare Rodeo, Balaklava Cup, Streaky Bay Rodeo, Moonshiners Honky Tonk Bar, The Barn at Wombat Flat, and the Mildura/Wentworth Country Music Festival.
She has shared lineups and collaborated with artists such as Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey, Amber Joy Poulton, Angus Gill, Brad Butcher, and Kelly Brouhaha, and her recordings feature session legends including Stuie French, Mick Albeck, Lawrie Minson, Rod Motbey, and Mike Johnson (US).
Gemma’s debut single Unanswered Prayers hit #1 on the International Country Thunder Chart, spending ten consecutive weeks in the Top 10. Her soulful rendition of Blue (LeAnn Rimes) was accompanied by a music video directed by Golden Guitar winner Michael McCartin (RagTag Studios), and her self-titled EP—featuring four original tracks and a bonus cut—is currently available exclusively on CD.
A frequent name on Australian country radio, Gemma has received airplay across ABC’s Saturday Night Country, KIX Country, CMT Australia, 2TM Tamworth, Flow FM, Today’s Country 94.1, and many more.
